It's been awhile...

But I'm back... I have finished a few things, but forgot to take pictures. The one project that took up most of my time was knitting a baby blanket for my MIL's boss. I used this pattern. It was a very easy stitch pattern that I was able to memorize, but It took longer than I had expected and I was working on it until the very last minute. I used Red Heart TLC Baby in the Fizzy Print Colorway. The colors matched the nursery set that the mother picked out perfectly.

Well, now I'm just about finished with the Yorick scarf from Knitty. I decided to make it to wear to work for Halloween. This is also a pretty easy pattern and it will be my first felting project. I was very nervous the light yarn wouldn't felt but my test swatch felted very easily. I can't wait to finish this one.

She Likes 'Em!!!

I got a really nice email the other day from my sock pal saying that she received the socks that I sent and that she liked them. I'm very happy that she is happy with them. Of course I was a little nervous that she may not like them, but no worries. She even sent me a pic of her wearing them, isn't that cool? Well here she is sporting her socks.

Well, now that the sock exchange is over I'm really at a loss of what to work on next. I started crocheting a shawl similar to the one Jessica Simpson wore a couple of years ago, but I'm just not feeling it. I think this is the third time I've attempted it, and I think it may just be a lost cause. Besides I think I would hardly use it. So I need some inspiration, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

SOCKAPALOOOZA

I'm unfortuately a very bad sockapaloooza pal. I am so late sending my socks out,and I feel really bad. My poor pal has been waiting so long for her socks, but I did finally finish them and they will be going out first thing in the morning.

Part of the reason they took so long is that I could not decide on which pattern to use. I must have started at least four different pairs of socks and I decided that I didn't like any of them. I finally settled on the Broadripple socks from Knitty. I used Cascade Fixation in Color 9518. When I saw it at my LYS I knew it would be perfect. I just hope my sock pal likes them.

Here they are...

And here are the socks that I got...

Aren't they beautiful? I just love green. I'm actually on the hugest green kick right now, so I think it's so great that she sent me green socks. They fit perfectly and are so comfy. And guess what, my sock pal is from the same part of Michigan as where I was born. What a funny coincedence. Thank you sock pal I love my socks!!!

Gold Medal

So the camera is still in a box somewhere, and my house is still in shambles, because moving absolutely sucks. However, I got my GOLD MEDAL. Image hosting by Photobucket I am so proud of myself that I finished my project. My knitting is on hold for a little bit while I unpack everything, but my next project is going to be Odessa from last month's MagKnits. I got the prettiest green yarn and some variegated green beads. I can't wait to get started on it.

I FINISHED!!!!

I really didn't think I would, but I finished my Short Row Scarf for the Knitting Olympics. With the move, and work, I didn't have much time to work on it but I did it. YEAH!!! Unfortunately, I already packed my camera, so I don't have any pictures. But as soon as I settle in the new place, I promise to post some. The scarf turned out beautifully, I love the colors and the pattern was really easy. After a few repeats I had the pattern memorized so it went pretty quickly when I actually had time to knit. Oh yeah, and I broke a needle while knitting at work. All I have to say is plastic needles are crap. Go TEAM USA!

Edit: Here are the pics.

321....Cast On...

The Knitting Olympics have begun, and I casted on for my Short Row scarf last night. I haven't made much progress yet, but I'm off to a good start.

I'm using the bulky weight merino wool from handpaintedyarn.com in the Dusty Olive Colorway. And as much as I love the color in the skein, its even more pretty knitted up.
I have alot of knitting to do, so I better get to it.

Panta

So I joined the Panta-along about a week ago, and I finished one, but I'm really not happy with it. I wanted to use some Noro Kureyon that I already had in my stash, but I wasn't able to knit it on the size 5 needless the pattern recommends. So I went up only to a size 6. It doesn't seem all that large, and the circumfrence fits my head perfectly. But the thing looks ridiculous on me. I don't know if its the width of it, or that my head isn't the right shape. Its a shame it didn't work out better, because I absolutely love the color of it. Sorry I don't have any pics of it yet. I think I might try it again... just because I'm a glutton for punishment. I decided not to post my FO on the KAL just yet. I'm going to see what happens with the other one first.

Knitting Olympics

I'm gonna be in the Olympics! The Knitting Olympics that is... and I'm going to be making the Short Row Scarf from MagKnits. Check out the Olympics here. I know the scarf doesn't seem that challenging for me, but since I will be in the middle of moving during that time, I felt it would be challenging under the circumstances. This is going to be so much fun.

Sockapalooza

So I decided I'm gonna do it. I signed up to participate in the and I am so excited to get started. I can't wait to get my pal's information. I have all sorts of ideas running through my head, and I'm eager to find out if they will like any of them.

On another note... I finally made my way over to Tuesday Morning to see if they had any knitting stuff. Well they didn't have a lot, but they had some really nice yarn and some needles. None of the yarn really suited my tastes, but I was able to get 5 pairs of Baleen Needles for only $5.99. So that is definately my bargain of the week.

Oh yeah, and the Malabrigo yarn that I ordered from Ebay on Saturday came in the mail today. I needed one more skein of it in Calypso in order to be able to finish Clapotis. I was a little worried that the color would be too off to match the rest, but it ended up matching perfectly. I'm so relieved that it's going to work out, and excited that I'll finally be able to finish.
